Vote for Vodka

I am a huge cocktail fan and would prefer a cocktail over a glass of beer any day. My favorite liquors are Vodka and Gin, I usually will just order a vodka soda or a gin and tonic if you ever go out with me. So today, I’m spicing up my vodka a little bit, with two fun recipes that I did at home. Not to mention how expensive cocktails can be at a restaurant/ bar, so making them at home can be a nice affordable way to get your vodka fix, while still feeling boujee.

                                       Lavender Lemon Vodka CocktailIMG_3450

Things you will need:

  • 2 ounces of your choice of vodka
  • 4 ounces of lemonade
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 sprigs of fresh lavender
  • soda/ seltzer water (if you enjoy carbonation)

I am fortunate enough to have lavender growing in my front yard so I cut off a few sprigs for that fresh lavender taste. I cut two lemon slices, since I was only making drinks for two people. In a tall glass combine lemonade, vodka, and tonic water if desired. Stir and garnish with your lavender sprigs and sliced lemon, enjoy!

         Peach Mint Vodka Cocktail

Things you will need:

  • 2 ounces of your choice of vodka
  • 4 ounces of soda water
  • 1 teaspoon of peach simple syrup
  • Mint
  • Half a fresh peach (sliced)

We have a huge assortment of herbs in our backyard along with other things, so I was able to grab the mint our of my backyard. Fortunately mint isn’t too expensive, if you don’t have a green thumb or mint chillin’ in the backyard, just grab some at your grocery store. Cut off a bit for decor and flavor. Place ice in your glass and fan peaches along the side of glass, the ice will hold the peaches in place. Combine your soda water, vodka, and simple syrup together and top with fresh mint.

Hope you guys enjoyed these simple and easy to make at home recipes. If you’re like me, don’t be shy and add a bit more vodka, you’re in the comfort of your home so why not add an extra shot in there.

Living my best life,
